CLPL and McHenry County College will bring a literature classroom to the library! Join MCC’s women’s literature students and instructor Laura Power for a conversation about “Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic,” a graphic memoir by writer and artist Alison Bechdel. Copies are available at the Circulation Desk. Registration required.

The Home of the Sparrow Holiday Giving Tree will be in the library’s lobby starting in mid-November. The American Association of University Women (AAUW) coordinates the Giving Tree program and forwards the donations to the Home of the Sparrow, a nonprofit organization that serves homeless women and children in McHenry County. Grab a tag off the tree, purchase the gift and return it unwrapped to the Circulation Desk by Dec. 30. Each tag has a QR code that you can scan and go directly to an Amazon wish list to purchase a gift. Amazon will then deliver the gift directly to the Home of the Sparrow headquarters.
